Lics cellar

The 22-hectare plantation in Pákozd is located on the northern shore of Lake Velence, on the southern slope of Meleg Hill. Both the volcanic Gay Mountain and Lake Venice contribute to the microclimate, which makes the wines of Pákozd unique and of outstanding quality.

Bory castle

Bory castle

(30km)

The castleJenő Bory (1879-1959)sculptor and architect, sculptor of the College of Fine Arts and teacher of architecture at the University of Technology built it, based on his own plans and imagination, over 40 summers, commemorating his conjugal love and artistic dreams.

The plot of the castle, on which there was originally only a wine cellar with its press house among the vines and fruit trees, was bought by Jenő Bory in 1912. He then expanded the press house into an apartment and built a studio above it. He started building the castle only after the First World War, when he was able to spend on it from the fees of his numerous sculpture orders.

He continued the construction, the constant chiselling of the details, and the restoration work after the Second World War until his death. For the most part, he worked alone, relying on his two hands, using only a few occasional helpers. He was a qualified architect, but his work was not guided by concrete engineering drawings, but rather by the inspiration of fantasy and adaptation to the given terrain conditions. The shapes of the slowly rising walls and towers and the spaces they embrace are the results of the same artistic vision as the sculptures, so Bory Castle is nothing more than a sculptural work of art that takes on architectural forms and dimensions.

Dinnyés castle garden

Dinnyés castle park

The creator of Dinnyés Castle Park, Zoltán Alekszi, aimed to present medieval Hungarian castles to those interested in a unique way.
The uniqueness of the castles that can be visited in Dinnyés lies in the fact that, in order to give the most realistic appearance, the buildings are made of their original materials, wood and stone. 18 castles were built here, with original orientation. The castles are surrounded by a promenade in the shape of Great Hungary, so you can walk around the castles in their original location. The promenade is surrounded by memorial columns, each of which commemorates one Hungarian king, governor, or prince.
The models are an experience for all ages, and the guided tour provides an opportunity to deepen historical knowledge.

Pákozd Memorial Park

Pákozd Military Memorial Park

One of the most well-known battles in Hungarian military history took place in the vicinity of Pákozd on September 29, 1848, when the Hungarian national guards led by General János Móga repulsed and made Jellasics' army marching against the Croats to Buda to flee. Although the battle was not one of the major operations of the War of Independence in terms of its size, its political and moral impact was inestimable. The date, September 29, has become a symbol of national defense.

In 1951, the large obelisk of National Defense Memorial No. 48 was inaugurated on Mészeg Mountain, and from 2002, the military memorial was gradually expanded, including a modern reception building, several permanent exhibitions, a memorial chapel, and outdoor exhibitions.

The KEMPP (Military Memorial Park Pákozd) is now located in an area of several hectares, in the well-maintained park several permanent exhibitions present our military history from the events of 1848 to the present day.

Bence-hegy lookout point

The first observation deck was built in 1965 on Bence Hill, which was actually an old, converted oil drilling tower. It was declared life-threatening in 1988, so it was blown up. The newer and more beautiful lookout point was handed over in March 2018. Its specialty is that it shines in many different colors at night, but of course, if you go up there, you can't complain about the view either, since you can see Lake Venice in its entirety. If you look for it in the right place, you can even see it from the hotel terrace or even from the thermal pool. It is at the top of the Bence mountain and can be reached by bicycle, you just have to roll up the mountain. If you've enjoyed the view and want to go back to the hotel, but you're hungry, it's worth visiting the Szent Orbán restaurant. http://www.szentorbankisvendeglo.com/

Some of them create picturesque, sometimes bizarre formations, as if the precariously balanced rocks were thrown on top of each other by human hands. The rounded rocks, more strongly worked by erosion, were referred to as wool bags in the local vernacular.

The Angelika spring can be approached from Sukoró by going up Erdész utca and following the green sign marked with a directional sign on the left side of the road. Visitors who pass by the Éva spring on the way can have a very nice and pleasant trip here.
